Bus shelter for Woodhouse

Bus shelter for Woodhouse

Woodhouse's new bus shelter replaces one demolished decades ago. Supplied by Littlethorpe, with 50% funding from Leics CC, it provides shelter for locals and visitors. Clllr Janie Martin cut the ribbon.

Frank Chambers Memorial Seat

Frank Chambers Memorial Seat

Brian Chambers erected a seat in memory of his brother Frank on Saturday 24 September 2011. Frank lived on Main Street and had been a bellringer and a keen gardener. He passed away in August 2010 just before his 80th birthday. The seat offers a great view over the playing field and farmland. Sadly, Brian Chambers passed away on 11 December 2011 aged 75. New Allotment Gates

Allotment tenants have kindly made and erected new Oak gates for the allotment gardens - a big thank you to all concerned. The allotments were open to the public for the first time at this year's very successful Open Gardens weekend on 4 & 5 June 2011 which raised over £5,000 towards the upkeep of St Paul's Church. Public Conveniences Improvements

Public Conveniences Improvements

Work by Charnwood Borough Council is underway to repair and improve the conveniences. The door to the Ladies is being moved to the front of the building and windows etc are being repainted. When this work is finished the conveniences will be handed over to the parish council who will maintain them under the terms of a long lease.

Once again Bradgate Trees have kindly supplied the Parish Council's Christmas Tree erected outside the Village Hall www.bradgatetrees.com. Ours was delivered but you can also go and pick your own, have a drink and mince pie, and enjoy the grounds which are near Bradgate Park. New Games Area Opens

Parish Council Chair David Barker cut a ribbon to officially open the new multi-use games area for young people on Monday 16 November 2009 [photo on Home Page].
