Housing needs survey

It is five years since Charnwood BC with the help of a rural housing association carried out a survey of parish housing needs. The Parish Council approved the survey. The previous one was in 2014, so this will update it. All the information is confidential to the housing team at Charnwood and when they join it to their waiting list, will tell us how many we might need in the coming years.

Bonfires!

Gritting and ice/snow clearing

Charnwood BC has useful advice on safe clearing of ice and snow from your property and shows a link to the Highways arrangements for roads - only the bus route in this parish. The parish has 21 grit bins, all except one are filled by Leics CC. Please use the grit ONLY for public roads and pavements. Local shops sell grit for you to use on your own drive.

Clearing snow

Is it illegal to clear snow and ice from a public path or pavement? No. You have a legal duty to make access to your property safe. It's unlikely that you'll be sued or held responsible if someone is injured on a path or a pavement if snow has been cleared carefully. Clear it when fresh - then spread grit thinly.
