New website for farmers and members of the public following far too many incidents where sheep have been attacked, chased and/or killed by dogs. Worried ewes can abort. This is an increasing problem: stats are shocking

Funds to create woodland

The National Forest has announced several schemes for creating and managing woodland at https://www.nationalforest.org/woodlands/woodlandcreation/ - half of our parish is within the boundary. The funds cover large and small areas, including community orchards and hedgerows.

New Community Orchard

A new community orchard will be planted and you can help to do this. The two dates are Saturday 18 and Wednesday 22 January at 10.00 reached either by Broombriggs car park on Beacon Road, Woodhouse Eaves or from Windmill Hill. The parish Heritage Wardens have worked with the Broombriggs management team to lay out the site and choose the fruit trees.

Mayor's Visit to Horticultural Show

The Mayor of Charnwood villages was the guest of the Parish Council at the Annual Horticultural Show in Woodhouse Eaves on Saturday 6 September 2008. The Mayor, Cllr. Stephen Campbell, together with Mayoress Cllr. Mrs Brenda Seaton, kindly agreed to present the winners' prizes firstly to children at 4.15 and then at 7 presented the Parish Council's trophy for services to the village to Bill Avery....
